Content Notes: Pre-show, AU. Warnings for Stranger!Danny and fucked up resurrection stuff.
It's not Danny knocking on the door.
"Come on, Timmy." Danny always liked to do that sing-song thing, really stretch out Tim's name when he wanted to be annoying. "Don't be a stranger, it's your baby brother. Let me in."
It sounds like Danny, looks like Danny when Tim looks through the keyhole, but Danny's skin was ripped off his body right in front of Tim; whatever is behind the door is not Danny. Yet, Tim can't peel himself away from the door, nor take his hand away from the handle. He keeps peering through the keyhole, jumping when he sees Danny's eye staring right back at him.
"Tim, please." Danny has sounded amused so far, but now his voice takes on a desperate note, and when he backs away from the door, he looks like he's on the verge of tears. "Come on, I don't like being out here. They will come after me, they will hurt me. Please, let me in."
It would be believable if there were actually tears in Danny's eyes, if Tim couldn't see that there are seams all over Danny's clammy-looking, deathly pale skin. It would be believable if Danny had the patience to keep up with the act, but instead his face twists with rage in a matter of seconds, and he starts pummeling and kicking at the door, screaming from the top of his lungs:
"Let me in, Tim! Let me the fuck in!"
It's not Danny at the door.
Yet Tim's fingers remain curled around the door handle, ready to push it down.
