"Oh," Elias says as he sees the knife. For a moment he looks down, as if in defeat.
Then he lunges.
Jon steps aside, rushing Elias with his blade. Elias's hand shoots out, grasping Jon by his wrist, and in seconds they are struggling, ELias trying to wrestle the knife away from Jon, Jon holding on with all his strength while trying to shove Elias away. He's not sure how they end up on the floor, with Elias on top of him, but he keeps kicking and struggling, his blade still aimed at Elias.
"Give up, Jon." Elias grips Jon's wrist tighter and starts to hit it against the floor. Each strike makes Jon's fingers flinch, but he grips on, thrashing beneath Elias's weight, pulling his fist back and aiming it at Elias's face.
"You're dead!" he hisses, even as Elias twists his head away, Jon's fist merely grazing his shoulder. Elias grunts again, grasping Jon's other wrist too and forcing it on the floor, shaking the hand holding the knife.
"Let go," Elias says, as calm as ever, and no matter how hard Jon tries to curl his fingers again, he feels them open up, and the knife clatters away from his hand.
Jon growls , but the fight is lost now; Elias has his wrists pinned to the ground, his weight is settled on the top of Jon's legs, effectively trapping him. Jon fumes up at Elias, lifting his head just enough so he can spit Elias in his face.
Elias closes his eyes at the contact. Jon knows better than to let any sense of victory swell up inside him, but his stomach still twists when Elias smiles, and when Elias opens his eyes again, his expression is gentle.
"Oh, Jon," Elias says, leaning down towards Jon. "What pointless struggle this is." He laughs, nudging his nose against Jon's; Jon snarls and turns his face away.
"You are doomed anyway," he says. "If I won't kill you, the others will. It's the end of the road for you, Elias."
"Perhaps so." ELias rests his mouth against Jon's cheek, his lips soft even now. Elias smiles against Jon's skin, snaking his tongue out to lick him. "But you know that no matter what happens, I will be part of you."
Jon shudders, closing his eyes. He doesn't want it to be true.
But he knows Elias is right. Even if Elias dies, Jon will never get away from him.
